the football talk
The world cup is at the semi-final stage. yeah, its been almost one month people from all over the world suffering from this footbal fever. including me. ah, to see my team win and go through this stage is very enjoyful. Italy, even they play not really beautiful like argentina or brazil, they have their own objective. they wants to win the world cup. that's it.
World cup is the matter of winning the game. no matter how good the player, how good the game and how beautiful they play, the only thing that count is goal. i give you and example. Okay, Ghana, un-doubtfully when they play againts brazil last time, they play beautiful football. beautiful passes. they can break the brazil defence but, at the end of the day, they cant materialize all the chances that has been given. as a result, no goal and they lost to brazil 3-0.
ah, same goes to brazil squad this year. im very shocked when cafu still fielded and the worst thing is, most of the defenders are old. the game is about speed. if you have a slow defender, you will be finished by your faster opponent striker. after the 1st match of brazil last time, i do quote to my brazil's friend, "just wait till brazil meet a team which have a fast and young player". and today .. brazil lost to france 0-1. thanks to Theirry Henry goal.
last four teams are all good. they have their own advantages and weakness. Italy, even i love the team, but Italian sometimes play like this is their 1st world cup. strong in defence, that's the only advantage with this team. from day one, the captain, Fabio Cannavaro has shown his capabilities and skills as one of the best defender in this world. ah, not to mention their ability to absorb pressure and their creativity. they dont depends on individual skills, most of the time, teamwork counts.
Portugal, good team, good player, good football they play. with deco which will be able to play againts france next match, the team will be stronger than today. Not to forget abt their captain, luis figo. i believe they will give a very good fight againts france.
Germany, total football. that's their trademark. as for now, i can see germany is the favourite to win this edition of world cup. with all the support from the fan, and luck, they can beat italy if they can score. if the game has to be decided by penalty, im not really sure. just luck will be the judge at that time.
